Going to start a new category.
OTB x FOOD, a spot where we can share our local restaurant experiences in and around Saskatoon.
Breeze, Jmak and I went to check out a local Thai/Viet place a couple days ago, Royal Thai.
Right when you walk in, it feels Thai. Nice decor, quiet, relaxing. I almost wanted to do some yoga (yoga, yeah.. right. Like i’ve ever done yoga)
The menu is small, which is sometimes a good thing. We started with the App platter. Spring rolls, wings and beef jerky. I had Pad Thai, Breeze and Jmak both had a Sate Soup.
Soups looked good. My Pad Thai was good. App’s were good. I wasn’t blown away by the food, but it was above par and different.
My Pad Thai serving could have served half of downtown Saskatoon for both dinner and lunch the next day. I got through a quarter of it and gave up. Made for a great lunch the following afternoon though!
The service at Royal Thai was great (Thanks Vicky) The price is a little on the high side, but you do get a lot of food.
Overall it’s a unique spot downtown Saskatoon, that’s different from a lot of places. Give it a shot, support local right? 🙂
